Contestants competing in both Teen AND Miss must print, complete, and bring the contract to the first practice.
Contestants Contract with Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen Pageant • Sparta WI
This agreement made and entered into this_________(date) day of___________(month), 20___, by and between the Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen Pageant, Inc. a Wisconsin, not-for-profit corporation under Sparta Festivals, Inc. hereinafter called “Pageant” and ________________________________________________, (Proper name.) hereinafter called “Contestant.”
Contestant hereby applies for acceptance as an entrant in the Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen Pageant, which is hosted and sponsored by the Pageant and Sparta Festivals. In so applying, Contestant represents as follows:
In the event Contestant becomes Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen because of the resignation or removal of the predecessor, all the provisions hereof related to Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen and shall be entitled to the awards and prizes established for Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen unless so ordered by the Pageant shall bind her.
I attest that I am a citizen of the United States of America and reside in________________________(city) , County of _______________and State of Wisconsin.
That I am a female who have never been married, nor had a marriage annulled, nor cohabited with a male in lieu of a marriage contract and that I will be the age of____________as of June 1, 20________________.(Contestant must not be older than 20 years of age on Pageant day. Contestants must be completing their junior year of school and be age 16 by the date of the competition.)
That if competing for the Teen category, I will be at least 12 as of June 20________, no older than a sophomore entering my junior year in the fall, and that I will remain in School/High School or produce documents showing proof of requirements for graduation or G.E.D. equivalency.
That if competing for the Miss category, I will be at least sixteen as of June 20________, will enter my senior year in the fall, and will remain in High School or produce documents showing proof of requirements for graduation or G.E.D. equivalency.
That I will be a citizen of the United States as of June 1, 20____________, and will remain such for at least twenty-four months thereafter.
That I am of good moral character and have never been pregnant and am not now pregnant, and have not been involved at any time in any act or moral turpitude; have never been married; have never been convicted of any crime and do not have any criminal charge pending against me; nor have I ever done any act or engaged in any activity which is or could be characterized as dishonest, immoral, indecent or in bad taste. And shall remain so during my one-year reign.
That I will furnish to the Pageant full particulars on any and all crimes of which I have been convicted and on any and all criminal charges pending against me (the forgoing shall include violations or alleged violations of any federal, state, county or local law or ordinance, including traffic and parking laws, for the violation of which a criminal penalty may be imposed, in addition to underage drinking tickets, disorderly conduct, etc.) upon receipt of such particulars Pageant may, in its absolute discretion, waive their provisions of the paragraph for one or more entrants without waiving the same for other entrants. These matters will be handled on a case-by-case basis. That I will furnish to the Pageant all required materials and that I will meet all its deadlines, of which time shall be considered to be of the essence.
That I will and do hereby waive any claim which I might have against Pageant or its agents, servants and representatives by reason of any personal injury suffered by me during Pageant rehearsals, Pageant night or while representing Sparta, Sparta Festivals and the Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen Pageant at any events.
That I have not previously met any of the following conditions and/or I have been cleared to compete by the pageant director:
- as a contestant, quit the pageant within two weeks of the show
- ended a year on royalty early (as a princess or titleholder)
- had unfulfilled commitments during a previous year on royalty
That I have not and will not incur any bill, obligation or liability on behalf of the Pageant.
The foregoing representations are material to this Agreement and Contestant certifies their accuracy. In the event on or more of said representations proves to be false or in the event Contestant violates any provisions of the Agreement, Pageant and Sparta Festivals may, in its absolute discretion, revoke any title won by Contestant, and Contestant shall forfeit all prizes won and shall return the same or the unused portion thereof to the donor.
Contestant agrees to abide by all provisions of the Agreement and by all the rules and regulations regarding the Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen Pageant, as Pageant, may from time to time establish.
In the event Contestant becomes Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen, she shall reign until the conclusion of the next Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen Pageant and until the selection of her successor. In the event Contestant becomes Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen and during her reign as such she marries or resigns or engages in conduct which, in the opinion of Pageant and Sparta Festivals, is improper or if prior improper conduct first comes to the attention of Pageant after her selection, she may forthwith be relieved of such title by Pageant, in which she shall forfeit all unused Pageant awards or portions thereof. Sparta Butterfest and Pageant will determine steps to move forward with other royalty positions in these cases.
In the event Contestant becomes the Titleholder, first or second princess to Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen, she is required to participate in all local and surrounding area parades/appearances as requested by Pageant or Sparta Festivals. The only excused absences are a family emergency or illness. The Pageant Director must approve this. If one does not, the Pageant and Butterfest Board of Directors may withhold some or all of the scholarship money provided as they see fit. Should Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen miss an appearance outside of the excused reasons above, money will be removed from her scholarship. First and Second Princess may miss up to two pre-approved (further than 3 days prior to the event) events. Missing more than two will result money being removed from her scholarship. This position in other words is like a job. If you don’t do what is required, you will not get paid.
In the event Contestant becomes Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen, she agrees to participate in all local and surrounding area parades and Pageants and to make appearances and perform her talent if requested at these appearances, unless given permission by Pageant Director to be excused. It is the responsibility of the Royalty each year to take turns finding someone to pull the float. Failure to participate can lead to dismissal from royalty. She agrees to all rules and regulations of the pageant committee, including but not limited to those in the New Royalty packet, schedule, and Float Expectations. Contestant/Parent understands that expectations are subject to change and that any changes will be communicated. In the event Contestant becomes Miss Sparta’s Outstanding Teen or either princess position, _________________________________ (parent) understands that at least one parent will be required to attend each parade/event and must provide transportation to and from events when necessary.
The pageant will accept applications until they have reached no more than 12 contestants in each category (Teen and Miss). At that point, a wait list will be created and should a contestant drop out, wait list contestants can be contacted at the discretion of the pageant director.
If in her application the Miss contestant stated that she would compete for Miss Wisconsin, she will be required to attend the state competition in June the year following her crowning. Miss Sparta’s Outstanding Teen will be required to attend the state competition in June one year after her crowning to compete representing the local competition and community.
Scholarships shall be expended only for tuition. Use of the scholarship must begin within three years from the date of award. Miss scholarships will not be awarded until you have completed your first semester. Teen scholarships may be used toward college OR other classes, camps and lessons as deemed appropriate by Sparta Festivals, Inc. Application for scholarship monies must be submitted online at SpartaButterfest.com or MissSparta.com using the Claim Your Scholarship form. Scholarship monies will be paid directly to the college, school or private teacher. Any cancelled or unused portions of scholarships will revert to the Miss Sparta/Miss Sparta's Outstanding Teen Scholarship Foundation, which is held in trust for future awards. The Pageant Director and/or Sparta Festivals Inc. reserve the right to rescind any or all portions of the scholarship should Contestant not fulfill requirements set forth by the Pageant, including Contestant’s participation in Butterfest events, or if conduct is improper/inappropriate at any time throughout their involvement with the Pageant/Festival. Failure to claim scholarship monies within three years of the date of award will null and void all remaining scholarship dollars.
You should not plan any activities the date of a scheduled event or appearance. You may be required to make an appearance on the Fest grounds after the parade. We never know exactly what time we will be home. You are our responsibility at these events and we are proud to have been entrusted with that responsibility and we are looking forward to a great year.

We the undersigned, the parents or guardians of:
_________________________________________the forgoing entrant do hereby consent to and agree to all the terms and provisions of the foregoing application blank and agreements therein contained on behalf of us, individually and as the guardians of said entrant. We do further agree that we have not heretofore authorized any person, firm, or corporation to use the name, photograph, picture or present or future title, in connection with an endorsement or advertisement of any commercial product for or in behalf of our child, or ward, nor would we do so other than in accord with the terms and provisions of the foregoing contract. By signing this statement we also state that all information and statements made in the foregoing contract are true to the best of our knowledge, information and belief.
